There’s this picture quote in my camera roll from December 2017. The first time I saw it, I remember reading the words over and over; thinking ‘this is it. This is everything’.
It was revolutionary to me at the time. It still is. So, I want to share those words with you too…

“I’m beginning to recognise that real happiness isn’t something large and looming on the horizon ahead,
but something small, numerous and already here.
The smile of someone you love.
A decent breakfast.
The warm sunset.
Your little everyday joys all lined up in a row.”
Beau Taplin

My seventeen-year-old self thought this sentiment was as ground-breaking as the invention of doughnuts (which traces back to the 18th century, if you’re interested).

Anyway. I’ve been thinking about it (the quote, not the doughnuts) a lot recently. In fact, its message is (kind of) the reason I started this blog.

As a major supporter of little joys and small victories – I thought it’d be fun to share some of my favourite links from around the web with you (line them up in a row, so to speak)

A very good reminder.

Have you considered making French toast for breakfast, during the week? (If you’re like me – or Adam –) it might sound crazy to do this when you’re trying to wake up on time and get you / your kids wherever you need to go – but my mom (and Adam’s wife, it seems) does this on the regular. And my brothers always love it!

This made me laugh.

This pastry chef attempts to make gourmet treats – and I’m obsessed. (Think twinkies, skittles, KitKats and more.)

Still I rise.

Here is today always fascinates me. (It positions today within the month, the century, the millennium, the epoch, and on and on and on. It’s incredible!)
